TECHNIWAVE has been successfully selected for a collaborative project including leading companies and research centers, such as III-V, XLIM, EGIDE, CNRS, UMS laboratories... for a 3-year program (VeGaN) dedicated to Q and E band communications using advanced GaN technologies.
Objectives of the VeGaN project: highly efficient GaN amplifiers for networks.
Development of a new gallium nitride (GaN) technology for millimetric applications intended for telecommunication applications with satellites (SATCOM) and for very high speed "last mile" applications between Internet networks and users (Backhauling) .
TECHNIWAVE's objectives in the VeGaN program:
• Offer a range of high and medium power Ka and Q band products
• Offer not subject to final destination control solutions (no ITAR)
• Increase in output power by 3 to 6 dB Improve linearity and efficiency (25 to 40% instead of 13 to 20% in GaAs)
• Perfect control of thermal behavior, reporting and encapsulation components
